Growing old or ill is not something any of us want to think about.  But, we all do at some time.

What if you become too old or ill to look after your finances?  Who will pay your bills?  Who will send in your “on-line” tax return?  How will you look after your investments and your pension?

A Lasting Power of Attorney (Property and Affairs) enables you to appoint relatives or friends of your choice to do this.

Harrop White, Vallance & Dawson will guide you through the process, including registration with the Office of the Public Guardian – a necessary procedure before a Lasting Power of Attorney can be used for any purpose at all.

We can also advise you on Lasting Powers of Attorney for Personal Welfare.  Giving someone else the power to make life choice issues is a considerable responsibility.  If you are afflicted by serious illness, giving a trusted relative or friend the right to choose where you are cared for gives great peace of mind.  As will the right to make choices over the treatment you receive, and end of life care.
